The Shepherd Project | Concept Design

Developed as part of the KLC School of Design UK programme, The Shepherd Project explores the transformation of a heritage industrial building into a contemporary home.

The design retains the strength and character of the existing architecture while introducing a quieter, more refined interior. Space planning, custom joinery, furniture, lighting and materials were considered together, creating a cohesive relationship between the architecture and the way the home is lived in.

Natural quartzite, dark timber, leather and brass bring depth and texture to the interior. The palette is deliberately restrained, allowing the quality of the materials, craftsmanship and architectural form to take precedence.

The kitchen and living spaces are grounded and functional, with carefully considered proportions, lighting and joinery. Rather than decorating the architecture, the design works with it.

Detailed elevations, joinery drawings, furniture schedules and specifications were developed as part of the project, supported by final visualisations communicating the completed design.
